Yet to hang, near Baltimore, MD

Well, I've gone and done it. I read a bunch of websites, watched a bunch of videos (over and over again), and ordered a bunch of ripstop, amsteel blue, and poly webbing. Last night I hemmed the ripstop, and gathered and whipped the ends. It's ugly, but it definitely looks hammock like.

I haven't gotten to hang it yet (I live in an apartment), but I've got some car camping planned in a few weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to get out somewhere and practice setting it up before then. It's been awhile since I've been camping, but I'm hoping to get back into it.

    Here goes nothing.

Dale Gribble: I'm thinking, "new hammock." For me, laying and swaying in a hammock is like a steady morphine drip without the risk of renal failure.

Randy : yea but just remember yer roots and where ya come from....you got Hennessy in yer blood son......

**** man, you were bitten bad. At this point the only relief of the symptoms is to just keep making and making. Sounds like an indoor stand might be next to relieve those long periods without a hang. I went one night without my nightly fix in my hammock this weekend. I was miserable until finally climbing back into the hammock last night. Welcome aboard from Florida. Enjoy the fun!

Hi and welcome to HF. Way to jump in with both feet.

Looks like you need to check out the (indoor) hammock stand thread. It has helped me get my hanging fix with the crummy weather we have been having here in MD.

    Thanks for the awesome welcome.

Re: The MAHHA Hang - I don't know that I'll be set up for the weather gear wise (or what my schedule's gonna be), but I'll definitely see what I can do. It looks like a blast.

hey from high point nc and welcome to Hammock Forums.

the kind folks here are among the most knowledgeable in the hammock world.

i'm not one of those knowledgeable people so this site is a good reference library for me.
