If it doesn't rain, I'm gonna be testing my revised SSLS. Hope it does what I want it to do.

Well failure and success..... I set up the my revised version of the of the SSLS before the rain set in. Failure was the two sheaths of the UCR are working opposite of each other. That I knew because the forward one which is not correct for the direction of pull was there only to help keep the after one more inline with the "RL". It slipped a few times but I was able to finally get it to settle down.

I wasn't comfortable having always on the edge of slipping. So what ended up working was taking the CL and making a half-hitch around the "RL" and passing it around the toggle. I didn't bother removing the "RL" from the forward sheath. That seemed to have settled it down.

So here's what I've concluded from all of this.....If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'm going back to my old setup which has given me no problems. It goes up fast, break-down time is fast and I've never had to worry about it slipping. BTW, old setup is either whoopies or ucr's attached to a fixed loop in my short straps with a toggle or if using my longer straps, MSH to a toggle. For either one on the hammock end I use CL and a toggle.

Too many acronyms, couldn't understand...
TMA, CU! Haha...
I think there is a sticky out there that has commonly used acronyms. The more I read, and the more gear research, the better I catch on. That's the fun of being on here, for me.
Haha...sorry about that, perpatater and tnx tstark. I'm still trying to figure them out ....
SSLS = sorta single line suspension
RL = ridge line
CL = continuous loop
MSH = marline spike hitch
UCR = not a whoopie
