Ok I need to repost all the plans drawings. When I first posted them I thought I had removed all the errors before sending them to the forum and apparently I forgotten to save the changes to the PDF files. To top it off, my first message will not let me edit it to put the right files in it. So here is a new copy of them all plus as requested I added an 11ft and 12ft version of the plans as well.

    Wow. This is amazing.

Going with curved lines in the design makes sense. There's nary a straight cut on a real Blackbird. After studying one I decided that the design was complex enough and the quality so high that buying would be the way to go. However, you've just rekindled my interest in a DIY version. Thanks.

    Knotty,

Personally I have not seen a WBBB in person so I had to look and look some more over a bunch of photos to get a feel on the design. It wasn't until I built one using the DYI plans that have been posted when I really got a feel on the design. (See my first post.) The big thing I ran into was getting the foot box side done right and I am not totally happy with the way it turned out. That is why I started to really look at the design carefully. When I put the mock up version together it really showed me that this design looks more like the original and it was way easier to sew the foot box side than it was on my first one using the other design patterns. Now I have a nice equipment hammock to use and I am trying to purchase up new supplies to build one using this design.

Thanks for the plans. I am confused about one of the drawings. On the 10' plan- the drawing below the drawing of the footbox and shelf. What is this piece for? I can't seem to wrap my mind around where it would go on the finished hammock.

It is a second layer of nylon sewn in to serve as a patch to help strengthen the neck between the footbox and shelf. It is critical to put it there as to help absorb the strain.

Well done. Very clear and concise where other plans I have seen are the complete opposite! Even I can understand this

Thank you. I know what you mean, that was one of the biggest reasons I put the drawing together. First so I can wrap my brain around it and then to share and help others to with the cut out patterns. Now I need to start buying supplies to build a second hammock, my oldest daughter is asking for one know.
