    What a great tradition! I have taken my son & daughter camping in the late summer each year before school starts. They are now 15 and 16 and are getting too busy. Enjoy it while you can.

    Can't wait to see Maddie's version. Sounds like it might "shake" things up!

    Awesome trip.

    It was cool to watch the vid. Thanks for sharing.

    Nothing beats watching a kid play in the woods. My daughters would prefer playing in a creek to playing at a county playground any day of the week (and I am not going to complain a bit).

    What a great tradition, and video report! Loved seeing her in the HF Buff, too! She will NEVER forget these hikes with Dad, and will become enmeshed with the outdoor lifestyle which will stand her in good stead forever.

    Thanks, we both enjoy these trips very much. She does think it's funny that there are a lot of kids in her school who would never even consider backpacking. And I love helping her learn to love the outdoors.
