Sleeping pads are too thick to conform to the shape of the hammock without body-weight on top of it...
People in extreme cold often lay on pads and use UQs...
I don't see how in any known universe that a 1" thick bag is good to 10-degrees, unless it's the new Chernobyl-Duck down that generates it's own heat for the next 10,000 years...
That said, at 1" thick, if hung right, should have no issues at 40-degrees, if it's baffled. My KAQ is about 1" of climashield, and 40-degrees is no problem. Add a layer of IX or thin PE Foam and you could go farther. (assuming you don't have condensation issues)
