Hammock goes in my bug-out bag. All important docs and pics pulled and bagged. Clean undies...

    To ride it out:
Swimming pool clean and balanced. Rain barrels at gutters with top screens. Generator with tri-fuel carb conversion. Frozen gallon jugs of water in the deep freezer. Plenty full propane bottles and a fully functional gas grill and burner (for all the food your neighbors will be bringing over for fear of loosing). Oil lanterns ready and full. Solar chargers for gadgets. Vehicles full. Chain saws ready. Know they location of nearest amateur radio club. Set up remote contact for periodic check ins.

    Any doubts, leave now.

Plastic cat litter buckets are also good for water storage. Not potable but good for flushing and stuff.

Don't forget first aid kits and personal protection equipment. Clearing storm debris can be tricky especially if you've got trees stacked on each other. Cut the wrong one first or in the wrong place and you might cause a roll or what whacked by a springing limb. I thought I knew how to use a saw until I became a USFS Class B Certified Sawyer.

I walk to my office. An amateur radio operator can certainly help you get info in/out of the affected area, though. Great suggestion!

My thoughts go out to you guys expecting a ravaging over the pond.

    To the original question,for a setup I'm thinking;

    Chainmail hammock
    1/4 amsteel whoopies
Chainmail covered tarp made of several layers of the heaviest cuben
    Amsteel tie outs
Huuuuuuuuuge stakes driven in with a huuuuuuge hammer
Solid steel trees on a slight hill
A crash helmet with ear plugs
    Body armour
    Pre-written will
A laptop to watch Shug tv from while swaying
    Sea sickness tablets
A widemouthed nalgene; I aint getting out of my hammock
You know...I did a lot of chainmail armour work several years ago.

I could make this happen! LOL

Sounds like an interesting DIY concept, although I've got to tell you...even going with aluminum rings...this ain't gonna ride in the backpack!
