Ok I thought it was supposed to be a 10 foot tarp...maybe that was the square measurement...which its not a true square..but I digress....

Dang thing has a 14 foot ridgeline..and to the bottoms of the tarp are 7 foot. I am not sure what to do with it now...I might just have to shorten it up some how.

    Any suggestions?

I suppose you could cut a catenary arch along the sides and turn it into a hex tarp. You could the cat cut the remaining finished edges so as to shorten the ridge.

Or, you could sell it to me for $40 and get a 12'x9.5' Chinook Tarp.

[QUOTE=caleath;534643]Yeah I pulled the trigger on it just before you offered up the tyvek. I didnt think I was going to find any so it looked like a good alternative. So now I have 2 tarps.
And how is that a problem? I hope there's no limit.

I have the Funky Forest Tarp, and yes, the ridgeline is 14 feet. For me, it reduces the possible sites because at 15+ feet, the hammock tree straps have to be really high.

However, that is the only con in my opinion. It has great coverage and doesn't stretch too terribly much. I will say that the loops under the ridgeline have a habit of leaking.

It's one of the few things that I've been exceptionally good at in my life; solving problems. In my work I am often asked how to make "square pegs fit into round holes" (figuratively) and it's my job to come up with a reasonable, workable solution.
Sometimes, it's as easy as "greasing up the peg" (again figuratively) other times the only solution is to "bore out the hole". I often upset people around work because they are intimidated by the way I do my job; but I'm good at what I do.

I asked this on the other Funky thread, but havent received a reply yet. Does anyone have the measurement from the center of one edge to the center of the opposite edge?

I assume 10'x10' is from one corner to the adjacent corner.
and 14' is the ridgeline for a diagonal hang
    Thanks

Well, if in fact it is a true 10'x10' square then any point along any edge would be exactly 10' to the same point on the opposite edge. It's probably not quite that symetrical but close enough for government work.

I thought it was cat cut.
I try to go by center edge to center edge to keep it apples to apples.
A cat cut can be deep or shallow
    My 12x9.5' Chinook is actually 11' x 8.5'
    My 12 x 12 Guide Gear tarp is actually 10;5" x 10'5"

I don't think it is cat cut, I may be wrong.
