My folks had a bunch of people at the house this weekend and space was tight. I figured I would just test drive my brand new Warbonnet Blackbird. There were a few issues, first of all, there was only one tree to tie off to in the yard, so I used my Jeep. Issue #2, I forgot my good tarp and we were expecting very heavy thunder storms. My Dad loaned me tarp, and of course I had para cord. I had two little aluminum stakes for the hammock but whittled a few for the tarp. It was all done with slip knots and taught line hitches so my Dad could keep and reuse the para cord.
This was the first night in the Blackbird, I was comfy, and pleased with my purchase. I enjoyed the sewn in foot box, shelf, and bug net. It was one of the worst storms I have ever been out in, it did not let up much all night. I was high and dry, and thanks to the tarp and the Blackbirds snakeskin, it was put away without every touching the ground or getting wet. Here are so me pics.
