Hi everyone,
I have been playing around with how I load all my gear in the ULA ohm and have arrived at a question that you may be able to help in answering.
To use stuff sacks or not?
I had in the past packed all of my sleep system into its own stuff sacks. I run a Blackbird, Te-Wa quilts with triangle thingies all suspended by whoopies.
I leave the triangle thingies attached to the UQ which helps with set-up (no adjusting the UQ as I know that they have been set already). The down side of that is that I need to pass the whoopies through the UQ suspension on set-up…… which got me thinking!!!!
Could I simply pack the Blackbird, UQ, TQ and whoopies into one larger stuff sack or waterproof bag (trash bag) and put it in the bottom of the pack?
I first thought that it would take up more room in the pack but then also thought that it would compress more and more with the increased pack weight that sits on top. I have some extra room in the Ohm so I think it could work…. It would make for a super quick set-up and take down..
I’d be interested to hear if anyone else has tried this or any other techniques other than packing each item in separate stuff sacks.
Cheers
