    self aware...

i've not posted much recently... been trying to fry w/ several pans at the same time<g>.
i've been trying to get my small work shop in order for one thing. it's primarily a woodworking shop w/ small areas for finishing & metal working, but it also has features built in for making hammocking/hiking equipment like a 12' X 4' rolling table & storage for fabrics & other supplies for sewing, making stoves & cozys, etc.
i'll post a link w/ pictures later for anyone interested.

i also went on a much needed, short, overnighter w/ a friend to explore a fairly new route into the southern end of linville gorge, NC on Easter weekend.
    http://picasaweb.google.com/slowhike...LGTMarch222308

also my Mom who lives w/ me, had to make another trip to the hospital w/ a knee problem that has left her pretty much immobile, so i'm trying to finish the wheel chair ramp i had started a while back.

i've had a hard time scanning through all the new posts lately to try & keep up w/ the jest of what's happening here on HF.
great to see so much good activity!!!

one thing i wanted to say (again) is that it's great to see such a diverse community w/ a common interest, taking care of each other & getting along so well.
for the most part, the only thing a moderator needs to do here is answer a few questions, or point you to another person that can actually answer the question<g>.

atroll is busy w/ other things most of the time & leaves all of us to keep things running smoothly here.
jeff's away for a few months but should be back before to long.
but you guys & gals do a great job of making HF a great resource for anyone interested in hammocks!!!

    Slowhike,
The LGT pix were great. Any idea why they call it Daffodil Flats? I couldn't figure out why...
Best of luck with your Mom. Sending wishes for better health and a good recovery.
