I will make a suggestion and promise to do what I can to help make that hapen, its not in my power but we do meet with those who do have the power once a year and I be sure to do so.

I'm not a hard core ultralighter but buy going with such a minimalist gear list my pack is only 15 lbs before food and water and the snacks are already in that 15 lbs so its just a 3L res. and a 4 PB&Js.

Welcome to the club, careful not to hang around any ground crawlers they get noisey every time they wake up and switch positions.

    Smile Heres the report

I wanted so bad to try out my hammock that I took a short trip to pinckney, against my better judgement I chose to go after being warned by questtrek about the mosquitoes being at nightmare levels.

My friend and coworker Jason and I figured we would hike out to a rustic campground by the name of green lake, hoping it would have less skeeters due to having cut grass.

The plan was to hike out wed afternoon set up our hammocks (big fun playing with new toys) and visit the other campers, play some cards and go to sleep.

We weighed our packs and were happy to see we both managed to get them down to just over 19lbs, I don't know how both of us had the same weight with in a few oz

Heres the bad part of the story:
Well wed seemed nice aside from the heat, but as soon as we stepped into the woods it was a shock, dispite Questtrek's warning we had never delt with so many winged parasites, it was like a devils cloud around our heads, we quickly put on our head nets and continued to hike.
The skeeters never stopped buzzing around our ears, we could hear them the entire hike.

When we reached the camp grounds it was much better, they were still out but we could stand it alright.

    And heres the good part:
We puled out out hammocks (both HH) and set them up, my trees we a little too close I think but I made it work.
We pulled out the food bags and had our selves a simple meal, pb&j for me and turkey jerkey and cheese and crackers for Jason, we were keeping it light and simple (no cooking) I mixed us some zipfizz lemon lime, scratch that off the list for future hikes, yuck!
Then switched to apple cedar mix, much better.

After food we showed a guy our hammocks (seed planted for hammock convert) we pulled out the cards and played a few games and went to bed.

I gotta say it was the best sleep I have had on a hike yet, the pad was a pain to deal with, had a hard time rolling over and keeping the pad in place, but it was my first night in a hammock and I'm hooked I will get the bugs worked out.
I stormed very late at night and rained hard, I had my pack proped up on the picknic table with the cover on and my trail shoes tucked under it.
Jason layed his pack on the ground under his hammock, his stuff was very wet the next day.
By morning I opened my eyes at about 9:30 (never sleep that late on the trail **** you super comfy hammock
We did our morning thing and headed out, over all the trip was great we relaxed in camp and had a great nights sleep, I hiking was not fun due to the skeeters but the trip was still good and we love our hammocks.

Sounds like fun. How was the temperature that night? You didn't mention being cold so must've been fine.
And where do you get apple cedar mix?

Wow....That looks like the same spot I was earlier in the year.. Where you right across from the lake? your 3rd pic, if so you are facing the best spot in the house, overlooking the lake.. Very nice place..
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..
