I feel remiss that I haven't introduced myself and I expect my reputation has preceded me in some areas of the forum.
I've been a hammocker for several years but only recently got serious about getting my pack size and weight down and most recently into DIY. Mostly because I am tweaking my motorcycle pack for more and more lengthy trips.
I come from ground dwelling tipi living and tipi mods with stoves and what not. Mostly with the hammock I am fascinated with the equipment and the minimalism that can be obtained. I'm a gear freak.
So, FYI, I live about 12 miles from the AT where the BRP meets the Skyline Drive. So if anyone hiking through needs a rest stop near Waynesboro, (I'm on the East side of the mountain range but it's still friendly here,) feel free to hit me up for an overnight. I have room and will pick you up and take you for ice cream or pizza! I often offer a lift to hikers on their way into Waynesboro for supplies.
So Cheers to all! Happy to have joined the group and look forward to meeting others.
ttfn,
HFG
