+1 on both Ducthware and DIY Gear Supply. For really cheap though, I have purchased dacron kite line and was able to get 1640ft for $20.00. Has worked great for me.

Just received a DYI order from Scott at diygearsupply for making some DIY at home projects. You can e-mail Scott from the website if you have any pre-order questions. He's great at getting back with your with answers. Also Scott is very knowledgable in DIY gear making and has made alot of gear himself.

    DIYGEARSUPPLY - Very helpful

I contacted Scott at DIYGEARSUPPLY and he was extremely helpful. I'm planning to order from him when I order. His website has a lot of great stuff for making your own gear. The shipping charges he quoted me were very reasonable and he responded to my questions through email very quickly. My opinion on low cost and value is if you only need 12 feet of cord, the best deal is someone who will sell you 12 feet of cord at a good price even if it isn't the cheapest per foot price. Thanks to everyone for their ideas!

    Dutchware, DIY and Redden

I prefer the local forum members that have businesses listed on here. Good service at fair prices. Personable service each time. Redden took their time with one of my orders but not so with Dutch or DIY...

I used the braided mason line for a tarp ridgeline/tie-out set, (comes on a 250 ft spool for about 5$) and the 4mm climbing accessory cord for the sag-setting line on the hammock(20-30 cents/ft); I know it is not what you were asking, but if you are going to the hardware store or climbing shop anyway....

1/8 braided polyester sash cord at any hardware makes a fine ridge line. Too big for flyz but fine for knots and mini biners. It has many names but you will recognize it when you see it. Avoid cotton.

    Jimma59.

Sorry to see you posted you did not get the same personal service as I did from Dutchware and diygearsupply that you received from Redden. Gotta say the I've purchased both from Dutchware and diygearsupply with A1A + 1 service from both vendors.

After purchasing from Dutch , I received a personal HF PM saying if I had any questions about his product to PM back and he would help me out using his products.

I had sent Scott (diygearsupply) at least 4 e-mails about purchasing some of his DIY Products and received promptly answers back in e-mails each time before I purchased.

Both venders sent out orders quickly and both packaged their products professionally and with attention to details. Verry, Very happy with both vendors.

With that said I look forward to also purchase from Redden sometime in the future.

Looks like litetrek had the same positive personal experience as I did with Scott at DIYGEARSUPPLY.(See Above) Also one other benefits as litetrek pointed out. You can buy parsed footage of cordage from these 2 vendors as a bonus if you are only purchasing a small amount, at Redden I only saw a minium order for Zin-It starting at 180 Ft.@ $25.67. Noted that is not including any HF discounts. Not saying it isn't a good price but you are buying a bulk amount.

I guess it comes down to what you are looking to precisely purchase.
