Does anyone besides Clark Make or sell....

Some sort of homemade quilts that will fit the pockets on an NX-250. I dont sew and finding someone that does around me and explaining what I want will be an adventure. anyway just wondering if anyone made some sort of insulation pods that would fit and fill the pockets for cold weather like an Under Quilt. thanks

Shug beat me to the link........If you dont want to do all of the sewing, I highly recommend the KAQ New River UQ from Arrowhead Equipment. It is a perfect fit for all of the CJH hammock models and is good for temps down to 32F, or atleast it was for me!!!!!!

im going to check out the arrowhead do they fit inside the pockets?.

Sorry just looked at the new river. Dosent having the quilt over the pockets defeat the purpose of the pockets or if adding any of my equipment i.e. boots etc into the pockets take away from the qp performance? Sorry to ask so many questions I am still trying to learn how all this works.

I guess to answer the question I will have to say yes and no, it does defeat the purpose of the pockets in a way. If you are using the pockets for heavy items like boots, then yes it will because your boots will pull the UQ away from the hammock which will cause air gaps, CBS!!!!!!! If you are using the pockets to store layers of your sleep clothing then no it will work ok, it did for me and the temps got into the upper 20's with snow. I usually sleep with my bootsand pack on the ground under my hammock and give them a good shake out in the morning.

Do all the under quilts weigh as much as the new river? 32 oz seems heavy but then again most sleeping bags are 32-64 oz..

In my way of thinking . . . you would fill the pockets for warmth . . .

and find other options for your gear.

It is OK if you don't sew . . .

grap a roll of ordinary Quilt Batt the kind that has a 1/2 or 3/4 loft. . .

    I use "Softloft" polyester batting, comes 78" x 88"

cut it up to size 13" x 24" would be good for the 2 hip ,
12" x 24" for the 4 others at your shoulders.
Count on 4/5 sheets per pocket.

Put them all in a stuff or compression sack . . .
and when on location, pull them all out, put 4 or 5 together and fill a pocket
use the existing velcro to button it up . . .
When they loft they will fill the pockets

    not perfect . . . but would work just fine . . . IMO

As a matter of fact it would be quick and easy 4 shore . . .

When you try it and you are tooooo warm . . .
