    Bike trip to Grandmanan Island!

My son and I went on a short bike trip to Grandmanan Island N.B. this past weekend to get away and have some quite time together. I took this same trip 25 years ago with my father to the very same spot so I thought that in memory of him that I would take my son as well. We took the ferry over early in the morning and set up camp at a wilderness campground over looking the ocean. We enjoyed some peace and watched whales and seals swim in front of our camp. Both of us slept in hammocks side by side under one tarp and had a great sleep. In the morning we packed up camp and biked back to the ferry and headed for home. The weather was great and the whales were fantastic!
We both had an awesome trip and will do many more trips like this together Thanks for reading!

The second picture is of my father and I going on the same trip to grandmanan 25 years ago. I used his saddle bags that he used on the first trip and the really funny part is both pictures have a ford truck and a ford station wagon in the back ground The apple didn't fall far from the tree!

This was the view over the ocean from our campsite!

Sunrise at 6 am from our campsite!

Beautiful nature, and with your boy
It always leaves a warm fuzzy feeling inside, when i see trip reports with kids included(they gotta get out there, and learn to go back into nature).

    Thanks for sharing!

Hope to do something very similar with my son someday.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. That was kind of amazing that there was both a station wagon and ford truck in both pics!

Nice start of a family tradition.
