Thats a great design. With the attachment points on the side you would be able to hang in denser woods where the trees are closer. I see good applications for that in Maines piney woods.

I just got of the phone with Ted, Director of sales Exped North America .

He said he will have some samples in of the ERGO hammock for the Outdoor Show in Aug.
After the show he will send me one and I will do a video reveiw using it in the field.
As well as for the Exped Scout hammock combo.

With luck will have those posted by the end of Sept.

I've been using the Scout hammock now for two years and love it .
I've used some other of there products for almost 10 years and there gear is top notch.

The new UL 7 large down mat 24" x 76" will weigh only 26,5 oz .
12,5 oz less then the currant mat.

My main concern is that the spider-web of lines linking the perpendicular hammock to the trees would become tangled easily. Still, it's a neat idea, and something similar might end up being the best way to make a true, proper two-person camping hammock.

Looks interesting...and that has to be one of the worst press photos (top photo) I've ever seen for any product...

Innovative design - I hope the patent is not too widely defined.
