I love it, but it's red. i hate to stick out that much.
I like the red tarp, it looks like a very happy color! The color I don't like is yellow. Yellow items I find are bug magnets. And grey silnylon can be so boring. But red, hmmm... I just ordered some black sil for a DIY tarp project. Wish I would have noticed this earlier. It's a nice looking tarp!
It's still available if you want it.
hehehe. that red would be awesome in winter i'm sure. probably make you feel warm
OK, I'm really itchin' to try a Switchback hammock. I'll trade the red Winters Dream tarp and $50 for a Switchback, preferably a dual 1.1, but whatever one will hold me at 250# (and dropping). Otherwise if you have a Switchback you're considering selling, drop me a PM.
Raisins has an olive green superfly up for sale. He said it's had a couple months of thru-hike use, though.
I was looking up some stuff on the Winter Dream- which version do you have? Do the ends snap together, tie, velcro, or something different?
Honestly after looking up more on the WD it looks huge! That is both a good thing and a bad thing. 11 foot ridge line, 10 feet wide, and 13 feet across the bottom!!! That is some awesome coverage! But you pay for extra shelter by adding 1lb 6oz to your pack...
But I suppose with the Superfly it's still 1lb 3oz you'd be hauling along...
It's got no snaps or anything. I think this is an earlier version (that said, he doesn't make them anymore I don't think, so they are all "older" LOL).
Weight on a tarp doesn't bother me at all, I consider it a small price to pay for the privacy and coverage. And you'll never lose your camping spot with RED!
I set it up like this for one of the women at a campout, complete privacy for changing clothes after we got drenched in a sudden downpour. Passers by thought it was a bright red lightweight tent! LOL

I'm still looking for a switchback...
