    Grosgrain Size

I just have a quick question. I'm making a DIY underquilt and gathering supplies. What width of grosgrain would I need for making a shock cord channel on the sides of my quilt for 1/8" diameter shock cord? I've searched the forum with numerous different keywords but haven't run across this yet.

    Thanks

I just got done with one and 1 1/2" worked great. Pretty much your getting half the width minus some so the cord has room. so you looking at about 1/2" all said and done which looks great when completed.

I got my Gross grain at a craft store, A.C. Moore. They have a 40% off and I got a roll for like $2.

I agree. I used 1.5" on the sides and 1" on the ends of mine, but to do it again i woud probably just use 1.5" all the way around. It was easier to work with and provides a little more channel room.

Yah. 1 inch can be a pain depending on the thickness of the quilt at the edges.
