    whoopie sling - length

How is the length of a whoopie sling measured? I want to make a 6 footer, as I've read those are a good starting point if you've never used one before and want to try it out. Is a 6 footer made from 6 feet of the rope or is it 6 feet long in the fully extended position after it's made? Maybe the easier way to ask is: how much rope is needed to make a 6 foot whoopie sling? Depending on the answer, it may be a silly question...

Out takes about 14 feet of rope too make a 6 foot whoopie. The finished length will be 6 feet fully extended.

    thanks

thanks again for the info. I found a lot of help about how to do the eyes, etc. But I could find nothing on the finished length and dimensions ... maybe I didn't search in the right places, but I spent a long long time searching.

There is too much info on Whoopies, but I did try to give a rough idea of the starting length in the tutorial. (Check the 6th and 7th line- just above the first photo.)

Anyway ewok is right. start with about 14 feet. you can alway cut it down to size if it is too long.
