The horizontal pitch of your tarp is fine provided the rain is straight down. But that is seldom the case. This vid is quite a good one for any hammock, not just the Hennessy that he is using.

    Hope you find it useful.

    Thanks man...
I have seen those videos already... learned so much from them.
In fact, I just put on whoopies... and had my mind blown by the elegance of the marlinspike hitch! (re-watched Grizz's video)

Four day bike camping trip last week, all in the GTUL with bluetarp and cheap draped bugnet. Was great. Rained hard 2nd night and I was perfectly dry. Very much looking forward to receiving my Bushcraft USA tarp though. The Blue Beast is pretty heavy. Also going to cut and sew the bugnet before the next trip...

    Good times.

    Thanks PDA!
Much appreciated. I couldn't be happier with the fact that it rained really hard there for awhile and I stayed dry. I really love hanging.

The only problem for me is that 95% of all my opportunities to hang are on public / state land, and the hammock rules are a bit hazy....
I guess that just makes me more concerned with becoming proficient with making a water proof tarp shelter on the ground, which is a skill I would love to have anyway. I just know I am not going to be dry the first time out... LOL!

    Best, Jake

    Awesome buddy!
    Mine has been great.
If the trade doesn't work out they are pretty cheap to buy new.
Post photos of your first hang!
    Best, Jake
