With a scheduled early October shop opening, late September is pretty unlikely for me. Perfect as the weather will likely be!

Well this weekends scouting mission is out for me .

You know how people always talk about the chance of a lifetime?
Well one just called me a little while ago and now
    1) my boss needs to rework the schedule,
    2) we need to find babysitters for the kids while she is at work,
    3) I need to hurry and pack some gear (including my hammock )
    4) Get my GPS loaded with Geocaches and fresh batteries.

My buddy was asked if he would like to help bring the Halfmoon (its a boat) down to NYC via the Hudson River. He got permission to ask some one else to join him on the trip and he called me ....

I'm not sure if it has to do with the fact that he "needs" one of my sleeping bags and pad, but its cool that he asked me to join him in this once in a life time opportunity.

Not to sure if they will let me hang my hammock yet but it would be very cool to hang it on the deck and sleep there one night .

Its not a BB or a HH but my Chrysalis. If it were the BB or HH that would be very cool as well.

Humm I do know someone with a BB and it sure would be nice to borrow that for the trip, right R3l

If he's in a Blackbird it's my 1.7 double...even gave him an option to buy.

I want to try the 1.1 double and can't justify all three

I am not sure how I missed this thread, but in any event I would be available the weekend of the 24th of September. Please keep me on the list.

    Thanks

I have four days off this coming weekend, and am willing to go to Monadnock State Park for a couple days to hang/camp/bushcraft, and to take a tour and make notes regarding the site as a possible for the NEHHA. As soon as I know the exact day I can leave (in the middle of a car purchase for my daughter), I will post here, and anyone who would like to come up and join me is welcome! But I think the only site left for 'tent' camping are reserved for 'walk-up only' at the park right now.

I will call them to see if I can get a site over the weekend, come rain or shine. We'll see. Hope I can get one.

Did this idea ever get kicked off? Sounds cool.

Just dropping in to say I am gonna follow this thread to see where you folks choose. Depending where and when, I may attend. I think I can swing a fall hang with my current gear.
