How to make a stuff sack?

How does one make the type of stuff sack seen in this image? Is it just a bag that's open at both ends or is it more complicated than that? I am not speaking specifically of the one seen in the image, but rather the type where one end is attached to the suspension system and then the hammock is drawn from the sack and attached to the other end.

    Thanks,
    Rob

It is a stuff sack with a hole in the bottom big enuf for the suspension to fit through. It is commonly called a Black Bishop bag around here for the guy who first publicly used it. It is very easy to make.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

+1 to what Rev said. Some go to the effort of putting a grommet in the sack.. For mine, I just melted a hole with a hot paperclip.

I have a similar bag. For me, I added a small scrap of ripstop to reinforce where the hole would be, added a button hole on the sewing machine and then melted a hole in the middle of that. Pretty simple and just as easy (and lighter) than a grommet.

WBBB hammocks come with a double ended stuff sack. It's basically a tube with a drawcord at each end. The pro over the grommet end is you have an easy way to stash the suspension without having a line going around the bag. I have a piece of flagging tape tied on the head end to I can orient things easily.

I saw a bishop bag that someone had (at the spring MAHHA, I think) that had a pocket on the side or bottom to hold the suspension end that protrudes through the bottom of the bag. It was so cool I may make another one with a bottom pocket. There are a couple youtube videos, but Just Jeff's instructions are what I used.

If you're wanting to get a bit more involved, here's how I usually make my hammock stuff sacks.

I have since evolved to just using elastic instead of velcro, since it's easier, but the principle is the same.

PS: This is a double-ended stuff sack, not a black bishop bag.
