    New Whoopie Sling Idea??

    Hello everyone,

I am finally going to make a whoopie sling ridgeline for my ENO Doublenest.

I was getting ready to get to it and had a thought....what if I attach the sling to the rings at the hammock ends with fixed loops and have two free ends coming from both of those fixed loops.

Would it work for the adjustable ridgeline if I splice one of those ends into the other...just like a whoopie sling, but without the loop.

I hope you guys can visualize what I'm talking about.

The problem with that type of constriction is that it's prone to slipping.

With a whoopie there is tension from both ends of the constriction but with your situation it would only come from one side and be easily upset.

    What Knotty said.

Just put the adjustable bury close to the end and make the adjustable loop just long enough to give you the adjustability you need and you'll be set.

Ok....so I'll make a fixed loop at one end and put the sling on the other side then?

That's right. The adjustable loop need only be 20 inches or so long (not circumference) if you don't want to use too much amsteel.

I put a locked drummel on one side and ran the amsteel to the other side and made my whoopie sling on the other. All one rope
