Snugfit vs Yeti ??

Ok, so it has been forever since i have posted, and almost as long since I have had the opportunity to hang. I have had a very busy last couple of years, but I am finally getting the chance to get out this weekend to camp and hang.

So here is my question....I am heading out to Western NC for the next few nights, and temps are predicted to be in the high 50's - low 60's at night. I have new gear I have never tried yet, like my WB SuperFly, which i am stocked to set up out in the wild, have just messed with it at home thusfar....

So I will have my 1.7 BB, my Superfly, and I am debating with the temps to go Yeti or Snugfit. i am lucky enough to have both, and have yet to use the Yeti. I am a warm sleeper, and only use an army pancho liner for my TQ.

Weight space also not an issue as we will be "car camping"....

I can also add a thermarest to either setup...

Thoughts for a rusty ole hanger??

Yeti no doubt. Got my yeti down to 27*F so in the 50's there is no question this will keep you fine and dandy.

Pad under legs?

gossamer gear 1/8" thinlight pad cut down to fit my legs. That's all I use down to the 30's. legs never get cold.

The one thing i dont have, ugh. Knew I should have picked one up a while back. I hate realizing i need something the day before i head out...

You won't need much or any leg insulation at those temps.

If car camping, just take which ever one you most feel like playing with. Or both!

Is this a winter Yeti, or 3 season? My only actual concern would be if both might be too hot for conditions. I know the Yeti can be vented fairly easily, not sure about the Snugfit. But if it is a Winter Yeti, it is rated a lot warmer than is the ( apparently very conservatively rated) Snugfit.

If a 3 season Yeti I would take it for sure, just to avoid being too warm. Especially as you are a warm sleeper. If a Winter Yeti, I'm not sure. If the Snugfit can be vented, I'd probably take it. But again: car camping? Just take both!

I say take both and use both. Test um out at night. During the day. Pay attention to the temps so you know what you are comfortable in. And I agree with Angry Sparrow and at those high temps you wont need to worry much about insulation for your feet. I only use a pad under my feet when it starts getting into the mid to high 30's.

I'm a warm sleeper too. Last weekend I took a summer phoenix & 2QZQ UQP, with foot pad and light summer sleeping bag as top quilt down into the 40's - and woke up with the pad on top of my feet and quite comfortable. So, pad under your lower legs/feet may not be necessary, I use mine because it's with me anyway as it doubles as the frame pack, but I evidently didn't need it for insulation in the 40's/50's temp range.
