Its a good day to be out in the woods no matter the weather.Mist One..
I like to get away from people so I tend to stick to off the beaten path places. ATV trailheads (plus I can bring my ATV), wildlife management areas in the off hunting seasons, and backpacking trails away from campgrounds. Most of the time I spend in Desoto National Forest. I am always looking for new places to camp though and I do hope to load all my gear onto an airplane this year and go camping in the snow thus fulfilling a lifelong dream of snow camping.

I go to the Superior Hiking Trail and Boundary Waters foot trails a lot here in Minnesota. They are 3 1/2 to 5 plus hours away so amongst my favorites as I can drive there.

Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Close to where I live and just gorgeous on top of that. Huge range of elevations too.
The North Country Trail in Michigan. Lots of beautiful sections and you can have some areas all to yourself if you choose correctly.
What's your favorite spot in the Allegheny NF?
