    Scottish Hanger says Hi :O)

    Hi folks,

Spent 17 years tent camping and after one night in a hammock the worm turned for me. After spending a few trips in a hammock I'm looking at my tent & other heavy gear now & thinking "How much could I get for that lot if I sold it?"

Got a HH, a DD Frontline & my new baby - a Blackbird 1.1 DL my sister bought for me... awesome, awesome, awesome hammock!! Thank you Brandon.

Now I've got the comfort dialled in, I'm working on staying toasty & keeping the cold Scottish wind from cooling my back. Currently using a Thermarest & hate the way it shifts about so looking to buy an UQ in the near future. Any help & advice here would be greatly appreciated.

Can't believe it's taken me this long to discover the delights of hammocking. The gear is small, lightweight, easy & fast to set up & take down, incredibly comfortable, the ingenuity of the hammock community is incredible, the quality of the gear is fantastic, the prices are pretty good when you think that some of it is custom-made and ships from the US to Scotland, and it's just plain cool!!

Everyone I see that gets into a hammock wants to have a wee nap within minutes of getting into it - I love that.

Currently using an all-in-one downy mountain suit for a sleeping bag, with a Snugpak Merlin for a TQ if necessary. If I get up in the night (as we do), I take the heat with me instead of leaving it behind in my hammock to disappear.

Loving reading everything you all write & watching your videos - very informative & interesting stuff that has undoubtedly shortened my learning curve and I thank you all for that :O)

A special thank you to Shug - whose videos are just brilliant and have helped enormously. Definitely the most entertaining and informative stuff I've seen in ages on YouTube. Cheers Shug, I owe you a wee refreshment or two for the help you've given me already! Love the circus skills, just amazing! But Pork Brains in Milk Gravy?? Man that's just NASTY!!

    Well that's it - a wee hello & thanks.

    Cheers folks :O)

    Thanks Bill.

Been reading & watching everything I can on UQ's & I'm nearly there as far as picking one goes, but they all look so good it's a difficult decision.
