I'm willing to try raising the foot end as you suggest and see how that goes but I'm not sure how I could do that with my current setup as I am using a stand.

If I were to lengthen the suspension on the head end would that be the equivalent of shortening it on the foot end?
Yes, shift the hammock so it's closer to the foot end of the stand.

    No problem for me.

I have no problem at all. When hammocking I pee like clockwork at 10:00 AM. My problem is my WBBB is so comfy that I don't wake up until 11:00.

Seriously though, if it's not health related or sleep position, my two best guesses are that it is related to change in diet or temperature. These seem the only variables that are different. I know I eat radically different when I camp, and also that if you are sleeping cold the blood may pump faster to circulate warm blood. Alternatively, are you a nervous camper (i.e. worry about bears)? Nerves will likewise change heart rate and move everything (including pee) to the internal organs. Part of your fight or flight response. Thus the saying that something 'scared the (expletive for urine) out of me'.

Been having similar problems myself with hammocks when doing 1 nighters. 2nd night the problem isn't so bad. Last year I was at the bushmoot and it settled down after a couple of days. I use a hennessy.

Soon find out if it's the hammock as I'm getting another sometime in the next couple of weeks from Mat of UKhammocks.

    I'm familiar with this

Any night in a hammock, I'll sleep really well, but have to get up way more than normal to water the trees. On occasion, up to 4x. At home I always sleep through, and never get up. I'm not sure what it is, although my buddy and I have speculated a lot (maybe better hydrated at camp, maybe sound of water nearby, maybe position in the hammock, etc) but I've decided I'm just going to live with it. Just so you know there's others in your shoes!

I have the same problem, not sure why but I think it has to do with being hydrated to the point of too much water. I try to drink 4-6 liters a day when hiking plus whatever H2O is used for cooking.... I know at home I'm no where near that.... A little frustrating, but I fall back alseep within a few minutes and sleep like a baby until nature calls again...

I think it is all related to
    temp
    position and noise
I can eat and drink the exact same thing and sleep outside in the hammock 30 feet from my bed and have to pee. But move that 30 feet and sleep indoors in the bed not have to pee.

I got nothin' man. Sorry. When I sleep in a hammock, I sleep like a stone unless the dogs start barking or something. Don't have any nature calls at night.

About the only thing I can say is, does the window open easily?
That way if you can't make it to the can, maybe you can make it that far. ops:

Not sure why, but I also find I have to pee more when sleeping in the hammock than in a bed.

I have a theory: The gentle swaying of the hammock causes urine already in the bladder to slosh around slightly, causing it to contact the nerves that send the "I have to pee" signal before the bladder is actually full. Sort of like the warning light for low windshield washer fluid will go on and off as it starts to get low if you're driving around, but stay off if you're parked, since the sensor is moving in and out of the fluid.
Dunno if this is true, but it makes logical sense to me.
