sewed it into the last tarp i made for the tie out loops.tied a diamond knot on it so i could do nacra like connectings.

Full marks for originality on this use. However, I would be concerned that having a doubled length of lash-it with a diamond knot would make for almost a double strength connection. I hope you have some other mechanism in your guy lines that will fail before your tarp rips.
