    My DIY WBBB top cover

I made a top cover out of some wally world material that I impregnated with silicone. It wieghs 3 ounces. I'm a little corny, so sorry about that.

Haha love it. That really looks much more simple than I imagined. I'm gonna give it a go. Do you think I should use untreated ripstop? Silnylon? Or spray a light layer of silicone over the untreated nylon?

Ps. - that bobby pin works like magic.

Is that to keep you a few degrees warmer, or for rain protection?

It is super simple but I usually find that is the best solution.

Your why I did the vid. The way it is you don't have to undo the tie outs to put it on or take it off. I did the silicone nylon myself, but it is real light and still breaths, yet water beads up on it. I would stay away from commercial sil because it won't breath well. Anything dwr would be good or you could get spray silicone or dwr. I used walmart material, is I had to pay for the material I would have just used material with dwr on it.

It adds to the temperature inside the hammock. However is does give the extra bonus of protecting you from blowing mist and snow. If there were a lot of rain on it it would run off eventually onto the sides of my hammock and I would still get wet.

I've come to realization that if I have an idea to improve my tarp Dutch has already done it.
