wonderful video. I had wondered for awhile how this thing looked. and it seems you got great results out of it. also like the homemade pads. they look great. I really appreciate the video man. I honestly mean it when I say you should send this thing to clark. Im sure they would like it also

Thanks for making the video and showing these.

If you had limited the video to 30 seconds, and showed your pads* compared to the Clarks Z-liner, I would have the same impression I got from almost 10 minutes of video: I want a Clark Z-liner like I want to pay the dealer $1200 for the car stereo next time I'm shopping for one of those vehicles.

*Six thin polyester pillows and a triangle of uninsulated nylon fabric to Velcro over the foot end? That's all of the "Z-liner" system?

With summer coming on (in the lands well north of Oz), tarps movable from one hammock to another, and the same money spent:

    Do I want to buy and try a Warbonnet (for example) or JRB Bridge, and plan to run a sewing machine head past 6 measured sections of a cheap and cheerful sleeping bag;
    or
Do I want to buy a "Z liner"?

Apologies; an asterisk was in the wrong place in my previous post.

Bradley's seven home-made pads insulate the entire bottom. Clark's "Z liner" pads do not fill the pockets at all, being rather thin; and where Bradley had insulated the lower triangle, the last 1/4 that 3/4 UQs do not, the Clark "system" doesn't even try, offering just a triangle of fabric, a tack-on seventh loose pocket.

I do believe he did upgrade the system quite a bit. im sure if he felt his feet needed it he would have a small pad shaped to fit in the triangle

Hey guys, just so you know,
The triangle foot part is insulated the same as the pads.

If you had limited the video to 30 seconds, . . . I would have the same impression I got from almost 10 minutes of video
Kinda like Ludwig van Beethoven . . . He just used to many notes,
woulda been better if it was shorter . . .
. . . Clark's "Z liner" pads do not fill the pockets at all, being rather thin; . . . offering just a triangle of fabric, a tack-on seventh loose pocket.
Their intent wasn't to fill the pockets
Your comment "offering just a triangle of fabric" is inacurate,
it is just as insulated as the pads.

FYI - your general attitude just afforded you a place on my ignore list
    (yea . . . that is all it takes . . . )

My guess is that Clark wasn't intending to take anyone to subarctic temps.
    only through a cooler night . . .

The rest of you . . . thanks for your kind words.

Good one Bradley. I've not tried flipping my NX over to put the Z-liner on but that makes perfect sense.

I do just as you do, once the liner is installed, it stays there all season. No need to take it on/off each time you hang.

    Thanks . . .

Plus I think in the summer on iffy days/nights I will take the pocket pads along in a different stuff sack.
but leave the foot end at home . . . They don't have much weight and pack down small enough . . .
