    Make It Stop Raining

I'm so tired of rain & cold I could scream !!!!!

My rafting buddy & I had been planning a float this weekend for quite awhile. Memorial Day weekend is usually our first float of the season and general shakedown cruise. We run the Southfork Snake River in Idaho, about 40 miles over 3-4 days. We usually stay in a couple camps, hang out under the tarp, read, talk, play cards, and nap. I was ready to do a field test with my 3 season Incubator & Burrow, and new OES 12X15 tarp. I could picture the perfect hammock trees in my mind. Unfortunately the forecast is for wind, rain, possible snow, cold temps, and flood stage river level. So we are postponing until next weekend. I know....I know..... wind, cold, rain, snow all sound like great field test conditions. But I'm a wimp, and my new knee replacement aches just thinking about those conditions. If they happen after we launch, that's another matter. But launching in the rain & cold on purpose doesn't excite me.

So it better stop raining. We have had nothing but rain & cold here in Utah all month. Our rivers are out of control. I'm so ready for warmth & sunshine I can't stand it.

I'm with you all the way on this one Cat, I have been trying to fish the rivers in these conditions....not much hope of the water level being down any time soon. The mountains up here are still loaded with way over 100% of normal snow pack, looks like rain and snow this week and it is going to be warm next week so that just means the rivers will be higher. 45 for a high here today Rained like crazy last night and I can see new snow on the hills. Been reading a fishing blog by a guy in AZ, Think I am ready to head south.....

Well its been a cool spring here in SW BC as well,,in fact all of BC. We had 20' of snow on the ground in the mnts as of 2 wks ago and its been raining hard . High today of 47f,,,,,but we've had some nice days as well with seasonal temps. The rivers are probably going to peak over the next couple of wks,,,i'll be OK but a friend may not. Good luck on the Salmon KJ.

When it does warm up we'll have a heck of a lot of water coming down out of the mountains. Makes the early rafting season kinda scary, but it will extend it longer into the fall. Maybe by the time my September Middle Fork Salmon trip rolls around, we''ll have a decent water level, and I won't get my raft stuck on as many rocks.
Now I'll have to cross fingers & toes that next weekend is better so we can float, and I can hang my hammock.

We are in a drought here. We can't paddle the rivers because there is no water in them. We got forest fires burning in the great Okeefenokee swamp!

I'll send an email to Google Weather for ya! Maybe if they say it is going to freeze, snow, and pour cats and dogs in Idaho there will be a dry hot spell (seems to work that way here).

We have both going on around us, water water everywhere and crops needing rain! All within 30-40 miles of each other! I wish you northerners would quit sending all your snow melt and rainfall down here at once! Actually there are alot of people throught the MS river watershed in a bad mess from the flooding!
