But really snow? We've been over 90 for the past 2 days in central NC. And the 13 year cicadas have made being outside almost unbearable, had to shout over them last week while hiking.

The weather here has been unusually stormy. Another tornado episode in my county today. But last night I sat outside and watched the lightning bugs and the breeze was so warm it felt like August. Going to hike in & stay on the mountain tomorrow night and there's 60% chance of more thunder storms! Good gear testing weather. But I wouldn't want to be on a flooding river either. Hang in there Cataraftgirl your spring is coming.

I caught a bit of a scary news report yesterday that was talking about the reservoirs here, and how full they were. Most are 60-80% full right now, with the majority of the snowpack still in the mountains.
For example..... Echo Res. is at 67% capacity, and can handle another 23,000 acre feet of water......but there's 233,000 acre feet in the mountains to fill it. Yikes.
Sure wish I could send some of this water to you folks in the South who are hurting for water. For now, I just want to be on a river and hang my hammock. Southern Utah looks nice this weekend, but there's not too many trees down there to hang from.

that is what is probably happening. I bet the Smokies are getting hammered.
It is suppose to be nice here this weekend. Highs in the upper 80's, lows in the mid 60's.

You could cook those cicadas and have a fresh meal on the trail yanno

We are heading off to Big South Fork for a 3 day trip. I need to call and see how bad the creeks are up there. I may have to make other plans
