    Is the shock cord running through channels in the UQ or are they statically secured at the corners?

    Yeah, I'd try some heavier shock cord at first. Also, I think that since it is narrower, that will affect how snug it can get. If it was wider, there would be more material for the shock cord to pull the UQ to wrap around you.

    I use thicker shock cord and I use S-biners at both the head and foot end, over the hammock. I can slide them toward or away from the tree to snug my DIY sleeping bag UQ up. They act similar to the triangle thingies mentioned above (which I've heard are great).
