OG that is nice very nice. That's what I hate about this forum every time I log on my diy do list gets longer and I am just learning how to hang.
That is a very affordable project and look like a fun time to build.

It wasn't me, as it looks like a project requiring tools but I sure like it.

OG, how many nights do you have sleeping in the stand? Are there any changes that you would make? Thanks............

I use it all the time for naps, maybe two dozen nights, or so.

No changes that in mind at this time, but the dimensions can be altered to make the best use of available space.

    Yes. And no.

I built it for indoor use, where a tarp is obviously not needed, trying to keep it as compact as possible. As it sits now, the footprint is 32"x114".

For outdoor use, I would lengthen it to 12', make it about twice as wide, and use round tubing for the top rail, so that a tarp could rest on it without undue wear. Does that make sense?

I'm working on a sawhorse style design that will be truly portable, and can be assembled in about one minute. When I get around to it.

I was also thinking that you could add extensions to the uprights.

Lets see, the best way to describe it. A short piece of square tubing that fits into the upright, then a piece welded going horizontal (out). Then another short piece welded so that it is sticking up. Your tarp would then attach to this. The only thing to touch the stand would the the tarp suspension at the ends.

    Clear as mud?

Then if your using this inside or just for a nap and don't need/want the tarp, you can just leave the extensions off.
