What to do about devil bird.....

ever since I found comfort in a hammock . ive been sleeping outside in my backyard as much as I can. I just leave a hammock out there and then bring which ever bag the temperature calls for. but lately this spawn of satan ( bird ) has been chirping like crazy from 1am til 5am and im a young guy and I must admit I do go to sleep kind of late. its hard for me to beat the bird to bed but he has kept me awake in my hammock for 2 nights now. It is driving me insane. not really a question about this . I just was bored and thought I would post

Throw a rock at if a few times. He'll get the hint. Oh. Make sure it isn't guarding a nest first.

Don't know the validity of this, but I heard once that birds chirp for two reasons: mating, and to protect their nest/territory. If it's the former, you are probably out of luck for the immediate short term. If it's the latter, check to see if one of the trees you have hung from has it's nest in it. (Or maybe another very close tree.) If so, maybe it's possible to move to another location. If that's not possible, there's always ear plugs! Good luck!

    Earplugs.

The super soft, disposable kind like E-A-R. I can sleep through a thunderstorm with 'em.

Yup! Four years of drumline, and those were always the most effective and comfortable. You can probably by a big jug of them for ~$5. Also, you can get a few uses out of them if you keep them clean. One pair would be fine for a weekend trip.

I have some of those squawking big black birds in my yard...
they are pretty aggressive... they jump to lower branches... then their buddy come buy.... all squawking at me...

I really think it is a territory thing...
I guess because we have a feeder out there.... and like many long term welfare recipients start to feel entitled to the hand outs..

I use rocks and small branches and throw into the trees... after a few times... they back off and go away...

They sell slingshots at ****'s Sporting Goods for $10.00. You might not be able to shut him up, but at least it'll give you [both] something to do while you're awake.
