    Have you ever kayaked around the gulf islands? Amazing shorelines and wildlife (no bears though)!
    It was lucky about the bear. I don't think he quite new what i was yet or maybe because i was on the water he didn't rush,,of course as soon as i spoke he rushed off. I usually have my camera in a pelican box on thedeck in front of me but it still takes a few sevs to make it happen. Happy he stuck around. I took up paddling last yr so haven't had a chance to get to the coast yet. I use to work near allot of the good spots but didn't think of paddling in those days. An old freind owns a paddling Inn in the Broughtons so some day i hope to get there. With the price of gas these days it might be a while.

    My pleasure. When you get a chance google up Peyto Lake, Bamff /Jasper park if you like green lakes.

    All the lakes in this area are known for kicking up in short order. Kootenay lake can get 5' wind waves in 15-20 mins,,,,ouch

    Thanks Bradley; Its amazing to me how little the lake gets used. Allot of the power boats go to Kootenay lake or Christina,,,Yea (-:
    Most days even in summer the lake is pretty quiet,,,with the exception of holiday weekends but even then people don't go far from the launch.
    This beach is one of the nicest on the lake and easiest to get to by boat,,about 30 mins across from silverton on a calm day. Wragge beach at the NW end of the lake is accessible by car, think Little slocan rd only worse,,for 5k via Hills. The beach there is very kid friendly and popular in summer. But it a bit of a drive from Robson,,Mmm 2.5 hrs. Actually the beach at Seringa is very good.

    Funny . . . it took me 3 years to get my wife to move here . . .

    She was born in Hollywood cal. and lived up and down the west coast . . .
    . . . Imperial Beach to Vancouver BC . . . all her freinds are on that line.

    She always said "We are only here for the very short term . . ."

    A month after we moved here, she said;

    "I just LOVE this place there is water everywhere you turn . . .

    . . . and where there is water there are beaches . . . and they are all empty."

    Oooooops

    Sssssssssssshhhhhhhhh . . . don't let it get out . . .

    . . . it can still be our little secret . . .
