    Newb Tarp question

After much research I just ordered my BB 1.1 double and will test it out this weekend. I plan on using a tarp I already own a GG White Lightning (anyone see a problem with that?). Right now I am pretty set on getting a Superfly Tarp after I make sure Hammocks are for me. Are there any other comperable options out there tha you experienced hammockers would suggest or am I on the right track.

I will just use one of my WM bags and a pad until I get the hang of it (pun intended) and then look at bottom insulation as with summer here I have a few months. Thanks-Lance

As long as your tarp is long enough to cover the end of your hammock, you're fine. What size is your tarp?
The WB Superfly is a great tarp. Other vendors here such as OES, Jacks R Better, and Arrowhead Equipment make good tarps as well. From personal experience, the WB and OES tarps are excellent.
One thing to look into is self tensioning guylines. They compensate for the stretch in the silnylon. I am a gear fiddler so I don't mind occasionally retightening them to maintain the taut pitch.

Looks like a great tarp and it should work out just fine. As for your insulation you sound like your on the right track with what you got. Good luck to you and happy hanging.

Yeah, even the small version of the White Lightnin' is 8'x10' which will have no problems covering you and your hammock. SuperFly is a super duper tarp, but what you have will work for you no problems.

Thanks, sounds good, I figured it would be fine. It is 10 X 10, and I will just have to work with it to find the sweet spot hanging it over the Hammock since I am used to setting it up lower. I watched a few of Shugs videos, now I just need to play around a bit. Been backpacking years, so I just need to get comfy with the set up. I will pull the trigger on the superfly soon, the camo looks pretty stealth!
