I don't think you can. I usually put something on the whoopie like a bead while splicing to prevent it from happening. That stinks dude.

It's frequent problem and can often be fixed by "digging" the loop out. Here's a couple of past links.

Tweezers or small pliers and persistance. I did it with my fingers and teeth once, no fun. It can be fixed
i did this while hikeing on the AT was not a easy fix but what i did was to move down just under where it goes back into itself and worked it out a different place took me about an hour with a saftey pin. now i have something in there so that dont happen again.
Hi!
P-A from Sweden here. Been lurking for more than a year...
Ever since I noticed the problem with pulling the sling into itself I have been thinking/searching for a simple solution. Shug showed a nice one with a plasitc/wood bead, but that does not work at a already finished sling. Bought or home made, unless you want to remake it.
My solution is a small plastic sbiner, se attached pictures. I used the smallest one, size #0. This stops the sling before it is pulled to long.
Hope that this can help someone.
Bye and hang safe!

Fill your years with life, not the other way around!
Or...just bury a 2" length of cord in the whoopie....http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...8&postcount=32
The ingenuity of this forum never ceases to amaze me. It is funny how these things develop.
- I have problem x
- Here is a solution (small oooh's fromt he crowd)
- Or how bout this...(more ooh's and maybe some ah's)
- But what if we take that and put it here (applause and maybe some face palms of "why didn't I think of that")
- Been looking at this and here is my take (standing ovation)
Awesome options suggested here. I have 80' of amsteel on its way and I think I am going to go the route of looping my toggles on the adjustable end. Makes the most sense as that is where your toggles need to be anyway.
wow, that 2" bury idea is great! i just have a safety pin around my loop (rather than a bead/toggle/washer/etc) but it is coming off tonight in lieu of a bury!
