    Weight penalty of adjustable webbing

I've ordered a WB Traveler (with BugNet) and got the adjustable webbing option. When I watch the video on Warbonnet's website it looks like a breeze to set up the hammock using the adjustable webbing as the only other item I would need is a carabiner or Dutch clip.

How much of a weight penalty do you think I am incurring if I use the "factory installed" adjustable webbing (and carabiner or Dutch clip) compared to the lightest aftermarket option out there such as whoopie slings or Amsteel line, etc.?

    6oz? 8oz? More?

I did a search and this discussion was helpful but didn't really give me an estimate of a bottom-line number of ounces.

the adj web vs the line/strap is about 4oz difference, biners add another 1.5oz, dc's only add about 1 oz, so about 5oz saved.

it's going to be pretty hard to get lighter than the line/strap suspension, if you had dynaglide whoopies then you'd be lighter, but most folks are using 7/64" amsteel (same as the line/strap) in that case the line/strap would be lighter than 7/64" whoopies and hardware.

i got my WBBB 1.1 dbl down to 25.6oz with 4 foot 7/64 ' whoopie slings
4 foot tree straps with 1 foot Cont Loops and Dutch Biners

only down side is i can only hang from small/Med size trees
if i know i'm going into an area with big trees i have tree straps that i made just for big trees .. there 3' tree strap with 35" Cont loops on each side of the tree strap they come in with Nacrabiners 3oz

i wanna try dynaglide WS but i just can't bring myself to trust them
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

Switched out from the adjustable webbing suspension to dynaglide whoopies, 6 foot tree huggers, and 1.75mm zing it ridgeline... saved 4.1oz

that's not factoring in any attachment devices (toggles, carabiners, dutchclips, etc). Thats just straight hammock and suspension (and stuff sack) comparisons.

GLP - I believe the WBBB 1.1 DL is shown at 31.25 oz on their website. That means your savings is 5.65 oz.

All of you have had a nice weight reduction and you save on pack size too. Thanks.

Not entirely off topic, but what are the actual weights of the suspension options on a WBBB? I am seriously considering upgrading to something to a BB, but am (simply for the sake of my CDO) looking at what to expect for weight.

On my current hammock, I have 7/65" Amsteel whoopies (extra long) and Harbor Freight straps (also extra long) with toggles. I am looking at saving some weight on my next hammock by using shorter whoopies & straps.

    Thanks in advance.
