Question Need help with how to build a ridgeline for a Eno double nest.

I am wanting to add a ridgeline to my double nest. I have 30 feet of 7/64 amsteel. And I want to use it to make an adjustable ridge line for my hammock. Now for where I need your help. I have no idea how to make it. I am hoping that someone here can tell me how to make this. Thanks for any help you all can give.

I made a whoppie sling for my ENO ridgeline. It has a locked brummel eye at one end, goes about 70" then makes a whoppie sling loop so the ridgeline can adjust from about 85" to 120" (slight overkill, but whatever). I used a larks head knot to attach this ridgeline to one end of my hammock suspension, then made a continuos loop that larks heads around the other end of my suspension. A small quicklink connects the two together allowing me to go ridgeline-less if the need arises.

    Hope this helps!

Which part do you need help with?
Laying it out?, making the buries?, start to finish?

Your ENO DN has an overall length of 118", so a good starting place for a ridgeline would be approx 98". If you make it adjustable say 3-4" longer or shorter, you can keep the tail close to the foot and out of your way.

This will be my first do it yourself Project so I was hoping to find how to do this from start to finish.

As someone that recently went looking too, my guess is the OP needs instructions on how to make Whoopie Slings.

Edit: OP beat me to it.

    Bigbogg,
Tonight is exercise class and then Scout meeting, but if you don't find a good tutorial by Tuesday or Wednesday, let me know. I'll make one and document it.

did a quick search of the forums and this link was in one of the threads, should be everything that you need except the dimensions for your sling. nice and simple to follow.

Sounds like you need this thread for the locked brummel and this one for the whoopie. In part "B. The Bury", you will see the end of the tape measure about 2" from the knot. For a ridgeline, you would need to go about 70" to 80" from the knot, then start the measurements for the bury.

I have made several this way and just run my suspension (whoopie slings) on the end of my hammock through the locked brummel on one end and the adjustable loop on the other. You could also make nacrabiners so you could remove the ridgeline while the hammock is hanging.

Just to show you that you learn something new every day, Roadrunnr72 just saved me some grams by showing me how to eliminate a quicklink from my rig... Thanks man!
