that exact question above. I apologize for making a thread at it but Im nervous about tearing up my hennessy bag but I just want to make sure I can. Im planing on using a soldering iron to burn one end. any feedback would be great.

Sure can. I sewed a reinforcement square into the bottom of mine and then burnt s hole through both layers.
Go for it (even w/o the reinforcement).

If you burn a hole, it'll fray over time. Not a big deal, but the hole will get a little bigger and look fuzzy.
You can snap a little grommet into a stuffsack if you don't want to sew up a new bag, though.

What about a grommet kit?
That should work great. Don't need big grommets, either.

Third for using a little grommet. If metal ones scare you, OWF sells plastic ones too (I think you'd want a reinforced piece if you're using their plastic ones, they don't quite have the bite that the metal ones do).

I used a Power Zap tool to melt out one of the squares in the grid stop of mine. Didn't bother the reinforce it. So far, so good.
