DIY Tarp Flyz

So when Dutch first announced that he was only going to make a limited number of Tarp Flyz, I decided that rather than ask for one my self I'd try to come up with a DIY version.

As you all know, he is now selling them and I'll be the first to admit that his version is far superior to mine but I wanted to share with everyone what I came up with.

I don't have a scale to weigh it on but since a regular nickel weighs 5g, I would guess my DIY version weighs about 3g. It took me about 90 minutes to make and materials only cost me 5¢!

Nice project. Simple to do and light weight. Have you tried it on the tarp yet?

So yes but then why do you see amusement parks with machines that deface pennies and nickels?

I didn't try it with a penny as there wasn't quite enough surface area to fit in all the notches and holes and the slight extra thickness of the nickel made me think it would be stronger. Plus, because of the color of a penny, if I dropped it in the woods, I would have a much harder time finding it than with a nickel.

I tried stringing my tarp up down in my basement but there isn't good enough light down there or room to get any good video. But it did work as expected. Once it stops raining, I'll test it out site and get some more video.

I probably would have used a quarter, just for the extra size. If it's a Canadian quarter, it's not a felony, right? It's not even a real country anyway :P
