Amsteel - What next to make

Well, I am half way through my group buy purchase of Amsteel, all 4 hammocks have whoopie slings. So, with 100'+ left, what should I make next? I have heard (little) of soft shackles, etc. I thought of replacing my ridgelines (paracord, or micro-cord right now).

Thinking of items that may need a weight bearing rope that does not stretch - as I have plently or micocord or paracord available.

You could make it into a small neatly wrapped bundle and mail it to me and I will score your effort in bundling.
Whether trail or paddle don't you know
My hammock is the way to go
There peace and solitude I find
To ease all troubles from my mind
Both body and soul revel in delight
As day surrenders to inky night

Thanks flatline - I will search for those threads (post them if you have them handy).

I have thought of extensions as I used 14' raw material in my whoopie slings using a 4 inch locked brummel (eight inch loop, and 2 fid bury). Granted that gives me a decent whoopie sling, I thought of those days where the trees are sparse.

What are the benefits of closed loops and nacrobiners? Or should I say, what have you found them most useful for?

    Thanks - Cheers

I like mine (nacrobieners) because they pack more easily with my hammock (no metal to poke around in my stuff sack), I can make them as large/small as I need them, and they are *super* light. If you already have ultralight bieners then that aspect may be less interesting to you.

Plus, it is a blast showing people how they work. Nobody ever believes that I put my not-insignificant weight in the trust of something that apparently looks so insignificant.

I vote for...save the extra until you actually find a need. It's not as much fun, but you have it when you need it instead of several items that you don't use.

I changed my hammock ridgeline out to amsteel, I figure if a small tree falls on my hammock the amsteel could possibly save me. Also, I can pull myself up with the ridgeline now!

here are a few thread links to get you started.
    continuous loop
bury a locked brummel on both ends of a length of cord for extensions.
    these are cool.
    soft shackles are like nacrobiners.
