    Agreed...go with the Camp Nano's... http://shop.whoopieslings.com/Nano-2...15-Nano-22.htm

I have a few of the XSRE and I while lightweight hangers might get by using them, it would be pushing the limits and their narrow cross section will tend to derate the strength of whatever you clip them to. I'm not going to put a 900 lb rated (fiddly little) biner in the middle of a 1500 lb rated suspension.

Unless you have a very specific need for a high quality accessory biner with a snag free key gate design, they are WAY over priced.

If youre going to use biners...

Just buy the camp nanos or the eldridge brand equivalent. No reason to buy a lesser-rated, Heavier, biner imho.

Edelrid 19g is the lightest climbing rated biner that I know of. I bought mine off of Amazon, but they appear to only be available as a quickdraw set currently on Amazon.

FWIW 4kn is a hair under 900lbs. 900lbs is the average break strength of dynaglide. A lot of people here have used spliced dynaglide and it works. I've seen a couple videos of people leaping into a dynaglide suspended hammock. If you aren't exceeding 900lbs of force why not use something that's about 1/3 the weight?

Only downsides I can see are cost and the cross section is not round. If they were rounded on their ends I might be game to replace my descender rings with some.

I'd be interested to see how they really perform. That said, Dynaglide Grapplers work fine for me at 1.2 grams.

For the record, Dynaglide is rated at 1000 lb average breaking strength and 850 lb minimum breaking strength.

i use 7/64 amsteel for my soft shackles, they work great, ive even put the shackles around poles instead of bringing them around and looping them around my suspension lines with a very taught ridgeline they held up spectacularly enough i could hang off of my ridgeline while getting out of my hammock / getting in plenty strong. 1600lb breaking strength but iirc when making soft shackles the holding strength goes up a bit vs the actual line itself. http://www.balancecommunity.com/slac...ackle-methods/

but i also have an excess of amsteel so thats why they were an easy choice for me bought 200ft when it went on sale. been using it for everything lol.

They have arrived. These things are crazy light!

Going to try these out for a while, with that rating they should hold me up safely.

I use the Metrolius FS mini biners. I can get them locally for $7 plus tax.
