Both the Nano and Metrolius ones are good.
Start looking on Ebay for them. I got a bunch off of a couple of people that bought all the latest greatest cool gear then found out they really did not like climbing.

As for lightest biner. The wild country helium would be the go to off my rack, for light. But may be over kill. Still a noob so I apologize if I'm talking out of my @@@.

Perhaps in the mad scramble for sexy light weightness I and everyone else has forgotten the most important function of gear – not that it must weight nothing, look good and be cheap, but that it must keep you alive and increases your survivability.

I know I'm bumping and ancient thread, but has anyone checked out these carabiniers? I ordered a set to use in my suspension system.

That advert does state that they are not strong enough for climbing, only 4kn.

I thought 4kn was more than enough for hanging a hammock. What is a safe rating to use?

As a straight force, they'll be fine, but reality doesn't work straight. Shock loading will take the force much closer to the limits.

Being a bit larger, I would share the load across two, but that wouldn't save much weight, so I would just use a single wire gate karabiner.

A couple of climbing friends and I went through a gear karabiner cull. If it looked or felt about right for a climbing 'biner, it HAD to be rated as such. Every 'binder I carried HAD to be capable of holding a fall. Anything that couldn't hold a fall would be thrown away, just in case it was used incorrectly.

That's near 900 pounds, and most people shoot for 1000 pounds as a minimum. I would not be afraid to try those if they were cheaper.

The advert states these are sold "individually" and the large biner is not included and on top of that they are not rated for climbing but they still want $10.95 each. Too little kn and too much $$$ in my lowly opinion.

They definitely are pricey, I was really impressed with the weight though. These are lighter than SMC descending rings.

Check out the Camp nano binders, climbing rated and $5 to $6 at REI!! There are two weights 23 or 22 grams for the newer ones.
