We would like to stack claim on the Bluenose Climbers post. We wold also like to post up a Eddie Bauer Deluxe Internal Frame Backpack
and a camelbak 24oz. water bottle. Well this past weekend my Son and I had a Scout Spring Camporee. The Troop pulled out the tents and I was determined to use the Double nest. So I packed everything up and was loading our gear. When I hear my eleven year old first year Boy Scout ask Daddy where is my Nest and tarp. I told him that it was going to rain and storm and that I did think he would want to hang this weekend. And at that point he said the funniest thing ever. “Daddy Shug would hang in his hammock wouldn’t he?” Now tell me how could I argue that? So I loaded up his single nest and tarp and off we went. We had some big storms Saturday and we hung high and dry, while the Troops tents took in a little water here and there. My Son said he had the best nights sleep ever on a campout. I to have to say I slept great all weekend. So big thanks to Shug for the inspiration for my Scout and I to want to be a forever hammock camper. By the way Shug he instead that he have hot coco instead of coffee and breakfast from is “Hommock”. I will upload some picks when I get home in the morning. By the way I used the slap straps and I (made them work). But boy was it a fight to get them to work. Thanks again to all my forum brothers for the helpful tips. And to add a little bit of gold to the whole weekend, almost all the other Scout upon returning from this trip asked their parents if they could get a hammock. So that was a big bragging moment for the Littlebogg. After I posted this Littlebogg was asked by the troop to come and talk on camping in a hammock. He did this last night. It was very neat to hear how much he has learned from reading the posts here. He is not old enough to use his own loggin so he just uses mine. By the way he is asking me to write thiis for him and in over my shoulder as I am typing this and says hi to all of our forum pals.

Any scout troops need suspension lines? I have 5/8" mule tape... First to post here (followup with a PM) gets as much as they'll use, up to a medium flat-rate box full... (600')

Thank you Papasmurf. The tarp arrived last night, just in time for our camp this weekend.

Last weekends Eco-Challenge camp was very wet and cold but the Venturer Scouts were warm and dry. They slept until 11:30 am Sat. morning. The other groups we camped with couldn't believe it. After listening to our guys brag about how warm and comfy they were all the others wanted to try hanging Sat. night. Fri night we had 6 in hammocks. Sat night we had 14 in the hanging village. Good thing we had a few spares although we had to make a few no-sew gathered end hammocks from tarps.

Bigebogg We will be making the chair/pack covers this week so the three you claimed will be in the mail later this week.

With Bigbogg claiming 3 we will have 4 more up for grabs if any Scouts are willing to post pictures of themselves in thier chairs.

Crew 50 would love some mule tape, but I don't wan't to pull it out from under RoadRunner. John, would you be willing to stuff a small flat rate box with as much as will fit if I send postage to you?

    Thanks,

    -Mike

I would like to take the 4 for Troop 8 in Newark, Ohio. They are slowly converting to hammocks and this might help ease them into it quicker. I will send a PM shortly.
