I've been thinking, I will eventually need to upgrade the boys' tarps for when real rain comes down here...the HH hankies are good for a feeling of security and the occasional mist, but not any real protection and space to move about in a downpour...

I just read a bit about the nanosphere water repelling technology, but first I've heard of it...

1.55 oz per yard is not unreasonable compared to some of the weights I've seen on DIY camo rigs out there...

I'm vacillating between tarp designs for the black cat, or a slightly smaller version of the superfly...

I would be looking for a water proof fabric instead of a water repellent fabric and save some $$ at the same time.

Looks like it's just a type of DWR coating, not waterproof. I think I'd look for something else if you want the boys to stay dry.
