Cookout Poll - 2011 Sping MAHHA, Pine Grove Furnace State Park, PA

Hi everyone! Time to start getting a count for the Saturday night cookout/potluck dinner. Pedro and I are doing the organizing of the dinner. (Please post to poll if you are pretty sure you can make it because you can’t remove your name later. Of course you can post on the thread that you can’t come but it gets difficult to track after a while.)

So here’s what we know. Dinner will be at 6 PM on Saturday, April 30 at the pavilion where all things hammocky take place during the day. Cost is $10 for dinner and a raffle ticket. The money helps pay for burgers, hotdogs, veggie burgers, buns, plates, plasticware, napkins etc. After expenses, part of the money will be donated to AT Musuem and the rest will go to Hammock Forums! Last year the fall JRB raffle donated over $800 to Hammock Forums. (Hammockers are very generous!) Extra raffle tickets can be purchased if you want. Try to bring exact change because it's difficult to make change if everyone hands us $20 bills.

A potluck wouldn’t be a potluck without people bringing food and drink. Please post what you plan to bring. It helps others decide what the will or won’t bring. MAHHA people have been outstanding with their side dishes! Side dishes have been creative and delicious!! Mmmmmmhhhh. Can’t wait!

I’m listing a few things we’ll need people to volunteer for. I put my name next to the stuff I usually bring. Please post if you can bring any of the other items listed

Drinks – will need multiple volunteers depending on count
    Salt and Pepper
    Another burger flipper
Large ice chest with ice (someone close by coming in just for dinner??)
    Ketchup, Mustard, Relish
Onion & Tomatoes for bugers and dogs
    Trash bags – Happy Camper
Charcoal & Lighter Fluid – JD
    Broom – Happy Camper
    Grilling tools – Happy Camper
Someone to take pop cans and plastic bottles to recycling center. (Yes, the MAHHA recycles and it is Earth Week this time!)

Thanking everyone in advance because you all do such a great job everytime! Many thanks to 2Q for all the work he's already done organizing this big event! You can direct questions about Saturday's potluck to me and Pedro.

Happy camper, I will bring soda. Ketchup, mustard, and relish. How much should I bring? It shouldn't be much of an issue. My girlfriend will also be making rice crispy treats.

Oh man, rice krispy treats! One of my favorites. Thanks for bringing things from the list! It really helps. As far as how much to bring, it depends on how many people sign up for the dinner and how many others are going to bring drinks. My suggestion is to keep watching this thread and we can decide closer to the hang. PM me as we get close to the date.

    I'll bring drinks:

    1x12 pk Mt. Dew
    1x12 pk tea
    1x12 pk Pepsi
    1x12 pk Lemon Aid

I'll have a cooler and some ice too. It's a short run to a store for the ice, so I'll make a run after we shut the exhibits down for this.

Happy Camper beat me to it and bumped this thread. Thank you so much, HC, for your efforts with this.

We need to have more feed back from people not only for how many are coming, but what you are bringing. We do need some help in this department, so take a look at the list and chime in, please.

    Thank you in advance!
