Where in Colorado are you?
If you're anywhere near Denver, shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to have you over for some hammock training. I'm stuck at home with yard work for the next couple of weekends, so I won't be out hiking.

Trust nobody!
If I were yo I'd take Cannibal up on that offer! What a great opportunity for a new hanger.
Those who expect disappointment are never disappointed.
most people recommend a good underquilt. If you're like me, and on a tight budget you can try feeding your sleeping bag around your hammock. it only works if your bag has a 2way zipper, but i have been warm down into the 30's with this setup with a cheapo bag that's only rated to 30 degrees. If it gets really cold i can pull it over my head and cinch it tight around the hammock. the hole on either end allows enough air flow that i've never had any condensation problems. you just need to put a towel or jacket or something by your feet to keep air from coming in down there. here's a pic

hope this is helpful.
I'll try the sleeping bag idea. Unfortunately I only have mummy bags, so I might need pickup a cheap rectangular GI sleeping bag or just make an under quilt.
