I have a JRB Old Rag Mountain and have been very pleased with it. It is a 4-season quilt (IMHO why waste money on a 3-season & a 4-season, if you are too hot with it you will kick it off in the middle of the night.)

I have never tried any other makers top-quilts but I can tell you the StormCrows' UQs are awesome. I like the ORM and it is true to the temp-rating.

I like to HAM it up on the CW.

    I play go.
Of course I sleep in a hammock!

I have three Customized Burrow's all made by Hammock Gear. Got a Summer, 3 Season and Winter. Well they are all fully customizable. My Summer and 3 season are regular length while my winter is a long for those extra chilly nights. They all have custom fill amounts in them to meet my temp ratings. Also when I initially bought the quilt(s) Adam spent a bunch of time with me talking really personalizing the quilts for my needs. I am cold sleeper so I needed that xtra down. And if you want a big quilt check out Big Papi's quilt. He's a bigger guy then you and Adam made a custom XXXL burrow just for him.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

I've got a big collection of top quilts because I was quilting under a tarp on the ground before hanging but my go-to TQ is a Warbonnet 3sMamba. You can't go wrong with HammockGear or JRB either but the Mamba has seen so many trips now its sentimental besides being spot on for weight/warmth ratio-it's not to go to ground though you could but made ideally to match up with the Warbonnet Yeti. My age old Nunatak Arc Alpinist has delofted over time and is now officially retired, it too had a lot of trips.

I've never had a down quilt loose loft, nothing that a wash and dry couldn't restore. But maybe I never used them as much as you did that one.

I have only had JRB quilts, both the Hudson River and No Snivler. Got them after meeting Pan at the MAHHA hang.

Never though I'd use the NS as a serape but for coffee in the hammock I am a convert!

The HR keeps me toasty into the upper 20's, then I switch to the deeper temp NS to take me down into the teens.

Partner the top quilts with either a Mt. WA 3 or 4, temp depending. All on my JRB bridge hammock.

    Hope this helps.

I use a Golite UltraLite 3-Season quilt in long.
    http://www.golite.com/Product/ProdDe...10&mc=&t=&lat=
Rated at 20° and despite being a cold sleeper I've gone a few degrees below that with it. It packs down nicely, and covers well. I especially like how the darts on the top edge help it wrap around my shoulders. It's hard to explain why but I prefer this dedicated TQ over using my JRB quilts up top. I think it just stays close to the body better so there's less dead air space to heat up.

Hammock Gear Burrow. I can't remember exactly why I chose this one, but I did a lot of comparisons. The combination of weight, warmth, and price was the best at the time. I also have quilts from two other manufacturers, and the Hammock Gear is better quality that the other two.
